I have a Prime membership on my personal Amazon shopping account. Can I share this membership with my Amazon Business account for my organization?
No, the centralized University of Utah Amazon Business Account is already configured for free 2-Day shipping. If you currently have an Annual Prime Membership, you will need to request a pro-rated refund on your account since University of Utah has added Business Prime Shipping. If you have a monthly Prime Account, you will need to cancel as it will auto-renew.
To cancel your Prime Membership, go to ‘Accounts & Lists’ > ‘Manage Prime Membership’ and select ‘End Membership’. A prorated amount of your Annual Prime Membership fee will be refunded automatically to you.

The Amazon catalog displays a number of items which are not available to order through the punch out system. Please note that you are not able to order the following items through your Business Amazon account in UShop:
- Digital items, such as Kindle and eBooks
- Bundled Items
- Gift Card codes, Print at home gift cards, or physical gift cards for which you determine the dollar amount. (Only physical gift cards with a pre-determined dollar value are available through the punch out.)
- MTurk
NOTE: Amazon has a 30-day fulllment window for items not immediately in stock. If the order cannot be shipped to you within that time, Amazon will cancel your order and inform you of the cancelation.

All Amazon orders placed in UShop are Tax Exempt!
University business purchases should avoid sales tax – so when departments purchase from Amazon, it should be done through the UShop punch out catalog. University departments should no longer be using personal Amazon accounts and requesting subsequent reimbursement. Departments should also eliminate PCard payments on Amazon business accounts.

If you have any issue with sales tax on an order, please contact the Amazon Business Account Customer Service Team by Phone at (866) 486-2360 or if needed, you can also request sales tax refunds by emailing tax-exempt@amazon.com
We also suggest that users ALWAYS review their shopping carts before finalizing any orders – there are a SMALL Minority of 3rd Party Sellers that are not yet enrolled in the Tax Exempt program. However, if a user DOES accidentally place an order with sales tax on it, they can email the Amazon Tax Exempt Inbox (above) with the Order Number and they will receive the tax reimbursement. If a user sees tax from a seller, we recommend buying the item from another seller that is participating in the Tax Exempt program.
