The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802.

Sole Source Justification:
Medicus Healthcare Solutions specializes in the recruitment and placement of Cardiology Faculty who meet the required credentials for placement within academic healthcare practices throughout the United States. The Division of Internal Medicine was unable to find another firm who can provide a staff member with each of the below credentials. Therefore, Medicus Healthcare Solutions is the only vendor who can provide us with staffing at this time. Requirements include: eligibility to work in the USA, ABIM Board Certification (or eligibility) in Cardiovascular Medicine, ABIM Board Certification (or eligibility) in Echocardiography, ABIM Board Certification (or eligibility) in Nuclear Cardiology.
This Sole Source will be for a duration of one (1) year and has the potential to exceed $50k over the duration of the Sole Source Agreement.
