The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802.


The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement

Sole Source Justification:

NeuroBlate is the only cranial laser ablation system with a robotic arm to assist in advancing laser probes during ablation. The robotic arm allows for greater precision and accuracy. Additionally, NeuroBlate is the only system in which a single laser probe can be used for multiple trajectories in a single case.

This sole source will exceed $50K in value and is valid for up to a period of five (5) years starting January 1st, 2024.
