The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802.
The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement

Sole Source Justification:
Currently the Gymnastics Team uses AAI equipment in both their training facility and the Huntsman Center for
NCAA Competition. In order to maintain the safety and compatibility of all of its equipment the team must
purchase AAI equipment. Each year the team works to replace one of its main items used for training or
competition on a cycle to save money. When replacing these items we must continue to use AAI so that old and
new mats, foam protectors, vault, beam, bars apparatuses and spotting blocks will continue to work in
conjunction with what has been ordered. Rocky Mountain D&G is the only vendor that is allowed sell AAI
equipment in the region, and thus is the only vendor we can purchase these items from.
