The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802.

The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement

Product and/or Service to be purchased: Yext Software License

Sole Source Supplier: Yext, Inc.

Earliest Proposed Purchase Date: February 28, 2024

Buyer Name: Matt Cooney

Sole Source Justification:

The Yext platform is the only one available that manages listings across consumer-based sites/data brokers with a pre-built Drupal integration, which is necessary to automate the otherwise manual work of updating consumer-based listings through FTE support.  Drupal, which is the Department's website’s new Content Management System (CMS), is the engine behind all of our “source of truth” data and integration is critical as it will allow automation of the ingestion, maintenance, monitoring and optimization of location, program, and provider-based data to populate to high-visibility sites and mobile applications such as Google search/maps/reviews, Yelp!, Apple, Facebook, Bing, Waze, Vitals, and nearly 200 other third-party publishers and data brokers via Yext.

This sole source will be valid for one year.
