The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802.

The Purchasing Department has received the following request for sole source procurement

Product and/or Service to be purchased: Slate Customer Relationship Management Admissions & Communications Processing Solution

Sole Source Supplier: Technolutions, Inc.

Earliest Proposed Purchase Date: January 31, 2024

Buyer Name: Matt Cooney

Sole Source Justification:

The Office of Enrollment Management has been using the SLATE CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solution from Technolutions, Inc. for the past four years and 6 months. Because Slate was designed specifically for higher education, using it as our CRM has allowed us to optimize admissions processing and communications throughout the cycle from pre-enrollment through orientation. It is also now integrated with other campus systems so that departments across Enrollment Management and the university can share data in a timely manner resulting in streamlined administrative processes. Switching to a similar product, would incur significant transitional costs estimated to be over $1,000,000.00.
