The Utah Procurement Code provides that a procurement may be made without competition when the University determines that there is only one source that can reasonably meet the University’s need for the required supply or service, as described in Utah Code Ann. § 63G-6a-802.

Sole Source Justification:
CAQH offers the only centralized electronic credentialing application in the nation. It allows providers to complete only one application and update information online. It standardizes data, meets NCQA requirements and contains provider data nationwide. This is essential since we University of Utah Health Plans credentials providers in UT, MT, ID, NV, AZ, WA, OR & WY. The application reduces the time consuming tasks of outreaching to providers to fill out paper applications. It has been validated there are no other vendors who offer a centralized nationwide accepted electronic credentialing application.
This sole source will be valid for a period of five (5) years.
